Z axis Calibration

Hi,
I am currently triyng to calibrate the Z axis.
In the setup page, I used 500 pulse as height.

If I understand well, the limit switch is placed to the top, so when I use the Calibrate Zero Position Button in the Z axis Calibration page, the motor starts moving slowly until it hits the top limit switch then the current pulse value is set to Zero. Then, if I hit the Floor button, the motor moves to 500 pulse (since its the height). When it gets to the floor and I press the top button, the motor dont switch direction, but keeps lowering.
Am I the only one who have this problem?

Thank you very much!

Re: Z axis Calibration

Hi,

Measure button will measure your z-axis length so you do not need to enter manually.

Basic idea is that you move platform down until reach floor level which you are happy. Press measure and it will automatically set z-axis height.

Floor will be the point which you have pressed measure button.

Automatic measurement only works for direct gpio control.

Re: Z axis Calibration

Thanks Sahin, but what i mean is that when I set the height of the Z-Axis and then I press the floor button, then the top button, the direction of the stepper doesent change and it keeps lowering instead of going up.

I am working only on direct GPIO control.

Re: Z axis Calibration

All of manual move up buttons lowering platform?
Are you sure you have wired direction pin?
Which version you are using?

Re: Z axis Calibration

What about down buttons, they go up or do nothing?

It is too old, but it is nothing to do with current bug, I taught maybe a new bug introduced in beta version.

Re: Z axis Calibration

It being displayed for direct control only. For RAMPS you have to add buttons from custom buttons / setup page based on your firmware choice on RAMPS side.

Re: Z axis Calibration

It depends on your hardware but you could try ready made config files. https://www.nanodlp.com/repo/
Also try read gcode specification, it is very easy to learn.
