I really believe that a slicer could be a good idea and a real plus to your software.
A solution like this one : http://www.mattkeeter.com/projects/dlp/ could be a good idea, the slicing is made by the client in the browser and use the power of this computer and not by the host.

We are already working on STL slicer. We have couple of implementations in place. But having commercial grade slicer proved harder and more complex than we thought. Open source ones could not handle complex models.
Currently we are testing our implementation, fixing different issues takes time but I think we could integrate it soon.
