VGA on Cubietruck, or HDMI to VGA converter on PI

Hi,
I recently bought 1  Micromake L1 (SLA 1024x786) printer and it has no hdmi port, only vga. I have hdmi to vga converter(tested and working with my old monitor), but I failed to configure it on my Window machine(it always flashing full screen when it has to focus and flash only test cube).
Anyway, I found out about NanoDLP and want to try it out on my PI 3 or if it is possible on my Cubietruck which has a vga port on it.

So my two questions are:
1. Can I use cubietruck board and if so what changes/drivers do I need?
2. Can I use PI3 with HDMI to DVI converter and is there any difference in setup in this case?
