Projector X/Y Resolution

Hey Guys,

I am from Germany and I am new here...

I built an LCD SLA and i want to use nanodlp.

At the moment i have problems to calibrate my "projector" (or in my case the LCD).

I use this LCD:

https://de.aliexpress.com/item/Single-H … b558f51e8b

The resolution of the display is 2048 x 1536 px.

Now what i have to do with the X/Y Resolution?
I entered 95.7micron but the pictures on the screen are to big.

I would be glad if anyone can help me... Thanks! :-)

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

You should measure width of projected image on tank floor and calculate x/y resolution.

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

thank you for your answer... but the real problem is, that every value i type in the settings or in the config.txt shows the same size on the screen.

For example:

I use an IPAD 9,7" LCD...

For 96µm the image is to big... but for example with 40µm the image is also the same size as before....

The way to the right calculation is clear... but this is so strange!

Do you have an idea?

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

You need to regenerate plates. As they do not get updated after resolution changes automatically.

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

Was there a solution to this? I am having the same problem. I'm trying the same screen and driver board and everything is zoomed in. Even the calibration matrix is only showing the centre. I've set the Horizontal Resolution to 2048 and vertical to 1536. x/y resolution to 97microns and y resolution to 0. I've done the same in the config.txt file. Any ideas?

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

Try projector calibration screen, if it does not cover your screen, HDMI settings on config.txt is wrong or resolution is not correct.

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

The projector calibration screen does not cover the screen. I have set the correct resolution in nanoDLP and in the config.txt. If I reduce the resolution in nanoDLP by around 4x, then the calibration screen begins to fit the screen. Thanks for your help!

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

check your resin profile settings
edit your resin profile and make sure "Override X/Y Resolution" near the end of the page is set correctly , I had the same problem until I found this option and fixed it.

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

Got the same issue and cann't fix it.

This is my config.txt

# For more options and information see
# http://rpf.io/configtxt
# Some settings may impact device functionality. See link above for details

# uncomment if you get no picture on HDMI for a default "safe" mode
#hdmi_safe=1

# uncomment this if your display has a black border of unused pixels visible
# and your display can output without overscan
#disable_overscan=1

# uncomment the following to adjust overscan. Use positive numbers if console
# goes off screen, and negative if there is too much border
#overscan_left=16
#overscan_right=16
#overscan_top=16
#overscan_bottom=16

# uncomment to force a console size. By default it will be display's size minus
# overscan.
#framebuffer_width=1280
#framebuffer_height=720

# uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output
#hdmi_force_hotplug=1

# uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA)
#hdmi_group=1
#hdmi_mode=1

# uncomment to force a HDMI mode rather than DVI. This can make audio work in
# DMT (computer monitor) modes
#hdmi_drive=2

# uncomment to increase signal to HDMI, if you have interference, blanking, or
# no display
#config_hdmi_boost=4

# uncomment for composite PAL
#sdtv_mode=2

#uncomment to overclock the arm. 700 MHz is the default.
#arm_freq=800

# Uncomment some or all of these to enable the optional hardware interfaces
#dtparam=i2c_arm=on
#dtparam=i2s=on
#dtparam=spi=on

# Uncomment this to enable the lirc-rpi module
#dtoverlay=lirc-rpi

# Additional overlays and parameters are documented /boot/overlays/README

# Enable audio (loads snd_bcm2835)
dtparam=audio=on
disable_camera_led=1
hdmi_pixel_encoding=2
start_x=1
gpu_mem=128

My setup looks like this
8d16a3e630868d89aa6e14a8ddd830ce.png

and my Resin Setup got the same X/Y Resolution but after i recrated my Plate and checked it in Layer and showed it on the Display it is still way to scaled up. sad

Re: Projector X/Y Resolution

I've got and iPad LCD working fine through nanoDLP but I am using a different HDMI controller board. In nanoDLP I only needed to configure the horizontal res, vertical res, x/y res (I use 97) and that was it, no need for the overrides etc.

Although my setup is different, as I have a 3.5in touch screen LCD as the main display, I have the iPAD LCD running through the HDMI output using a frame_buffer so my config looks like this (the display parts anyway). I also flip the image horizontally as it's a bottom-up printer.

    disable_overscan=1
    framebuffer_width=2048
    framebuffer_height=1536
    hdmi_force_hotplug=1
    hdmi_group=2
    hdmi_mode=87
    config_hdmi_boost=4
    hdmi_pixel_encoding=2
    dtparam=i2c1=on
    hdmi_cvt 2048 1536 30 1 0 0 0
    display_rotate=0x10000

Maybe some of that config will help you get the correct resolution in nanoDLP.

Good luck.

Greg
