HDMI PowerSaving mode between prints

Could it be possible to allow going into HDMI Power Saving mode after print, and exit HDMI Power Saving mode before print ?

Going into HDMI Power Saving mode is achievable via

tvservice -o

But when exiting HDMI Power Saving, no picture/layers are shown anymore, via

tvservice -p && fbset -depth 8 && fbset -depth 16

Keep up the good work ! big_smile

The graphic engine need reinitialization. It is easy to do and we already have method to do that.

But when you do tvservice -o, projector/lcd display no signal message. Is it preferable to turning off the projector?

Re: HDMI PowerSaving mode between prints

With tvservice -o, my lcd display indeed gets "no signal" message followed by "Going into Power Saving".
I suppose the "Projector Turn Off" button on Projector Calibration page only works when connected via USB and does nothing with HDMI ?

Re: HDMI PowerSaving mode between prints

Internal turn on / off function require serial or usb port. If you need HDMI only solution, rpi supports HDMI-CEC which could send off/on command through HDMI port.
If it does not work, I will add signal cutting as you have suggested.

Re: HDMI PowerSaving mode between prints

It could be useful in some cases. I have added this feature to the beta version. Thank you for the suggestion.
