Stop/Shutdown Physical GPIO

Hello, I'm trying to setup physical shutdown button. Which GPIO should I use? Also should I just short them with ground or with 3.3v VCC? do I need a resistor to limit the current?

Any help appreciated.

Re: Stop/Shutdown Physical GPIO

You can use any GPIO available in the list. Yes 3.3v. I am not sure about resistor I can ask and let you know.

Re: Stop/Shutdown Physical GPIO

It worked by shorting any selected pin from the list with 3.3v pin and 10k resistor.

Thanks for replying.

Re: Stop/Shutdown Physical GPIO

I am resurrecting this older thread instead of starting a new one....

What is the proper operation of the switch and what are the functions? Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place for info.

I have used this scheme on my other raspi's- is it the same? short press and long press?
