ATX Power Supply

Is it a good idea to power both the Pi and RAMPS with an ATX power supply?
Any issues to anticipate?

Re: ATX Power Supply

ATX power is overkill, use high power mobile phone charger.

Re: ATX Power Supply

Yes but I would like if possible, to power everything with a single PS:

- The Pi
- Stepper motor
- Light  engine, it works on 12V/ 4A
- 12V fans
- 12V proximity switch

My question is if I should be worried about electrical noise issues and if I should incorporate noise filters to counteract them.

Re: ATX Power Supply

Separating pi's power source is a good idea otherwise you could get unexpected power issues.
