Well, this is just an update. I have laid out and burnt a couple of circuit boards to work with the PI3 for controlling the stepper. I have changed the layout several times to try and get the smallest board possible and still work. Now I am waiting for a couple more parts to be delivered by te USPS. Tracking says I should have them tomorrow. After that, a couple of more days of testing the board before I settle on the final design. Will keep this up to date on this forum.
