Settings for D7

Hello, I installed the latest version of nanoDLP but I have problems with my D7. It already worked with an older version so I think the printer firmware should be ok. I think, that I need to update the printer settings. Yet everything seems to work but the display stays black. Is it right, that I just have to upload the right json file? I tried it with a file, which I found via Google but had no success.

Re: Settings for D7

Thank you, I tried it using the the function: Setup/Tools/Import Machine Settings/Restor Machine Settings
In the Dashboard a new printer name is shown now, so I think the Import was successful.
But when I start a new print, I can see the lamp is switched on internally but the display remains black.

Re: Settings for D7

In the Display Calibration Tab I can switch the light on by pressing "shutter open". UV Light is comming out of the slots in the back of the housing. Through the display I can see a slight shimmer. When I press any of the profiles, no pattern is shown on the display, only the slight shimmer.

Re: Settings for D7

When I connect the HDMI cable to my PC I can not really show anything on the display. It shows just some lines. That is strange, berause I did not modify the hard- or firmware of the printer since it worked last time.

Re: Settings for D7

I just connected a normal monitor to the Rasberry Pi and can not show anything on it, too. Not sure, if the test makes sense...

Re: Settings for D7

Update to the latest build some recent versions does not support all displays but current beta/stable builds are ok.

Re: Settings for D7

Now I installed the image from the link. Everything works fine now. The only problem is, that I can not update to the latest version. When I press the update button, it performs a restart but I end up with the same old version from 2017.

Re: Settings for D7

This is a problem affecting multiple users, myself included, and the dev seems to either not know what the problem is or not care to try and solve it. What's especially disappointing is that older builds aren't archived for troubleshooting purposes. My printer is currently non-functional since the only other build I can find is from 2017 and there is required functionality missing from it. So my choice is either the new version that doesn't work, or the old version that's missing features I need.

Absolutely disgraceful.

Updating from inside NanoDLP has been broken for literally 2 years and counting now. Shahin has never offered any kind of fix for older versions suffering this issue. He's just left users like us out to dry whilst pushing out new versions that don't work with a lot of popular hardware, like the D7.

Re: Settings for D7

I did, but it makes no difference. So I began to accept, that I have to live with the old version. But now I had to notice, that it does not work at all. when I create a new plate, it calculates for a while and everything looks good. But after a while the system seems to shut down and I can not connect to the Pi anymore. So I have to restart to reconnect again. But then the plate is not processed and everything starts from the beginning.

Re: Settings for D7

By "Makes no difference" you mean you have upgraded that successfully but it still not working? Share a debug file.

Re: Settings for D7

No, I pressed the button and for a few seconds the Pi was offline. But then it restarted with build 1437 again.

Re: Settings for D7

Ok it seems you have not tried upgrade from terminal. Just try advanced nanodlp installation mentioned on the nanodlp download page.
