Help interpreting Resin Calibration results

I need some help trying to interpret the results of my resin calibration plate-

Here are my current settings- I did not have a deep enough plate depth before. I bumped it to 10mm and its much more illustrative.

Q: Can anyone confirm the definition of plate depth? Is it total height including the initial burn-in?

What are we supposed to get from this page view? How is it intended that we use it?

Here is the printed plate. The resin recommended settings is 5 initial layers at 50um and 60 seconds, then 8 second exposures.

Should I measure the objects to confirm their printed sizes at this stage?  Is the 'cube' reliable at this stage?  I can nto distinguish beween under-exposed and normal or normal to over-exposed yet.

I am tying to interpret the closing of the object padding- the longer exposures are 'bulged' in the middle? Is this what over-exposure does?

Do we back off on the timings? The 7.5 and 7.75 look better to me than the 8 does.

Re: Help interpreting Resin Calibration results

It depends on kind of print you are making. For example for jewelry you want smaller pillar to be standing and small as possible. So for your calibration it is 7.5 7.75
No it does not consider burnin layers, just pillars.

Re: Help interpreting Resin Calibration results

Thx Shahin. What is the purpose of Plate Depth?

Re: Help interpreting Resin Calibration results

Sorry to reply to my own message but wanted to include that on Build 2418 on my Mac, Plate Depth always resets to 3mm no matter what I put in there.

Re: Help interpreting Resin Calibration results

Apologies again. I see after experimenting that its just the burn in layers of the resin profile apparently. The other thing I dont understand though is that the number of layers generated above the burn in layers doesnt match the number of comma delimited cure times. Perhaps I’m not understanding the nature of this calibration. Also viewing the details of the generated calibration plate, I see 60 sec burn in layers then all the rest of the layers show the same 12 sec cure time. Shouldn't each of the layers have Different cure times per the comma delimited list?

Thank you for replying.

1. Should we be concerned at all with the foundation pad under the pillars? The bulging sides mystify me. Is this where something else like mask generation will even things out?

2. Can you refer us to a resource for trying to determine under or overexposed resin ?

Best regards
