Custom D7 nanodlp wont boot but standart does

Hello I am trying to help a friend trouble shoot why a custom image with d7 support from 3dprinterwiki.info wont boot.
The Pii just lights up red and there is no more activity with the led or output to HDMI with the custom image "burned" on the sd card, but if we take a standart nanodlp it works just fine boots straight away
(same sdcard but we have tested with a other card to have the same results).
I have tried "burning" the image with both win 32 diskimager and etcher to no succes.

The version I am trying to use is nanodlp_d7_0517.zip and I have tested the mirrored version to check for file corruption.

The Pii is a 3 b+ with a 32 giga card so space is not an issue just to clarify.

Am I missing something perhaps hope you can give me some pointers

Regards Donlup

Maybe firmware on d7 image is not updated so it does not support 3 b+

Re: Custom D7 nanodlp wont boot but standart does

I think it is more that what the admin suggested. The regular nanodlp creates 2 partitions on the sd card the first is a fat32 partition that contains the machine bios etc.

When I put the d7nanodpl image on the sd card there is only one partition and the the fat32 boot partition is missing.

I'm in the middle of this maze too looking for a way out. Manually configuring nanodlp only gets me so far and the lcd/led are not turned on when printing.
