z-index calibration warning

This might be a bit of a niche request, but I have to reset the z-index of my printer every time the pi powers on.  My local power company has been doing some work in the area recently resulting in a few power cuts which end up rebooting the pi and consequently resetting the z-index.  This could happen while I'm out and I'd never know that the z-index needs recalibrating until starting a print and it all going wrong.

Would it be possible to have an option to display a banner at the top of the screen that says something like 'z-index calibration required' (or perhaps a customisable message) with a button that dismisses the banner until next boot?

How we should detect calibration is required?

Re: z-index calibration warning

I don't think you would - since calibration is required 100% of the time when the pi starts up, it would just display a banner as a reminder until dismissed, then it wouldn't appear again until the pi was rebooted.

Which one you are using direct control or RAMPS?

Re: z-index calibration warning

Why you do not put required gcode for calibration on the startup gcode box?
For direct control we already doing automatic calibration (zero z-axis) on startup.

Re: z-index calibration warning

There’s no hardware switch to stop the build plate crashing into the vat window so I’ve always done it manually.
