Pixel Dimming

Is there any information somewhere that describes: What exactly is Pixel Dimming? How/why does it work?

Re: Pixel Dimming

Light leak/bleeding is a serious issue with dlp projectors, also their advanced image processing unit tend to optimize picture for viewing which leads to very bright spots on part of screen with concentrated white dots. That means whenever we print 100s of pixel around plate far from each other, the light output is much weaker than when all of them are close together. Because of that cure time needs to be decreased when printing large parts. Small details also could get lost.

What we do is to dim pixels in a way to prevent over-curing for the large parts and make it possible to use same cure time for all forms of plates independent of pieces sizes.

Re: Pixel Dimming

I was going to ask a question regarding pixel dimming, but since there's already a thread by the name I was going to use, I'll just ask it here! What is the relation between the input for wall thickness and the actual wall thickness on the part? At first I thought the obvious, mm, but a value of 8 puts a relatively thin wall on 1mm supports. Thanks for your help?

Re: Pixel Dimming

What you mean by increase dimming? If you mean increase size of grid, currently it is not possible.
